1. Custom Commissions
When you commission a piece of custom furniture or bespoke cabinetry from Meridian Craftworks, you're engaging in a collaborative design process. Our artisans dedicate significant time to material selection and technical drafting. How do we ensure your vision is realized? Every project requires a signed design brief before fabrication begins.
2. Payment & Retainers
To secure a slot in our production schedule, we require a 50% non-refundable retainer. This allows us to source specific timber—often rare hardwoods—and begin the intricate joinery work. The remaining balance is due upon completion, prior to delivery or installation. We don't ship until the final coat of oil is dry and the invoice is settled.
3. Lead Times & Fabrication
Wood is a living material. While we provide estimated completion dates, artisanal woodworking can be subject to shifts based on wood seasoning and humidity conditions in the New York workshop. We'll keep you updated if your reproduction carving needs just a few more days of attention. Quality takes time. Don't rush the grain.
4. Cancellations
Because each project is tailored specifically to your dimensions and wood species, once material has been cut, cancellations aren't possible. Total transparency: we can't un-saw a piece of walnut. We're committed to working with you to adjust designs if needed, but the lumber costs and labor are fixed once the sawdust starts flying.
