Linden Blvd Estate: A Case Study

Ever wondered if a charred, 1920s mahogany staircase could regain its former glory? We're currently deep into the restoration of the iconic Linden Blvd Estate. Our team is meticulously stripping decades of neglect to reveal the original grain of the hand-carved balustrades.

By utilizing traditional veneer consolidation and period-accurate stains, we're ensuring the history of this Brooklyn landmark remains intact for another 100 years. It's slow work. It's difficult work. But we wouldn't have it any other way.

Our Techniques

  • French Polishing

A labor-intensive process of applying hundreds of thin layers of shellac for a high-gloss depth that modern lacquers can't replicate.

  • Veneer Consolidation

Using reversible hide glues to stabilize lifting historical veneers without damaging the substrate.

  • Custom Carving

When details are missing, we hand-carve replacements to match the original architect's intent exactly.
